Introduction

Nagigia surf resort Fiji is one of only two Fijian surf spots that face offshore to the trade winds, Cloudbreak being the other. This island resort is the new hotspot in Fijian surfing.

Location

The Nagigia surf resort Fiji is located off the coast of Kadavu and is reached by a short flight on Sun Air from Nadi airport. On arrival at Vunesia airport, you are transferred by speed boat to the resort which is 45 mins away.

The Surf

There are a number of surf breaks at Nagigia surf resort Fiji surrounding the island that get swell from different directions and work at different times, ensuring that there is always a wave - the best surf at the resort is from April to December.

The Nagigia Island outer reef is more exposed to swells than anywhere else, so it will have surf at times when the other spots are flat. King Kong mountain (named after the famous 1935 Hollywood epic that was filmed here), which overlooks the resort and the Nagigia reefs, also has a moderating effect of the wind at Kong Kong Left, so when other places are blown out, this break is often still operating.

Nagigia surf resort Fiji has 5 breaks which depend for their quallity on wind directions, tide and swell. Nagigia is situated on the northern part of the outer reef (just off Cape Washington), which curves around through almost 270 degrees, picking up wind and swell from a range of directions. Depending on weather and tides, there are still more breaks to choose from.
