I've added this page as a reference.

There are those who think that global warming is simply a natural event of which we have no influence.

There are others (like me) who believe that we are accelerating the effects of global warming and we can do something to slow it down.

Scientist's views about Global warming & Ecotourism

You may wish to read some of the opposing views - here is a short list of scientists opposing the mainstream scientific assessment of global warming including :

Timothy F. Ball, former Professor of Geography, University of Winnipeg

Robert M. Carter, geologist, researcher at the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University in Australia:

Vincent R. Gray, coal chemist, climate consultant, founder of the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition

The following other science based organisations have views which you may wish to read:

The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO)

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

The Kyoto Protocol

Some Government's of individual countries views Global warming & Ecotourism

Australia's official federal government - says "The Australian Government takes the challenge of climate change seriously. Our approach is to reduce greenhouse pollution in Australia in the short and long term work with the international community to develop a global response that is effective and fair prepare for the climate change that we cannot avoid."

UK Tony Blair's statement in 2004 - said " .... From the start of the industrial revolution more than 200 years ago, developed nations have achieved ever greater prosperity and higher living standards. But through this period our activities have come to affect our atmosphere, oceans, geology, chemistry and biodiversity.

What is now plain is that the emission of greenhouse gases, associated with industrialisation and strong economic growth from a world population that has increased sixfold in 200 years, is causing global warming at a rate that began as significant, has become alarming and is simply unsustainable in the long-term ...."

United States Environmental Protection Agency - has for a long time fuzzed the issue and if you look at their site, you will not find much to encourage you that real action is going to happen. They are still trying to come to terms with "is it real ???" There is a bit of encouragement here when they say "..... The United States is committed to reducing the greenhouse gas intensity of the American economy by 18 percent over the 10-year period from 2002 to 2012. This initiative puts America on a path to slow the growth of greenhouse gas emissions, and -- as the science supports -- to stop, and then reverse that growth ......"
